Someone elsewhere was wondering why on earth Jung Woo wouldn't recognize Soo Yeon when they meet as adults - did she have plastic surgery or something - and oh headdesk headdesk headdesk.
I mean, people look vastly different at 15 and 29. To me, it would be ridiculous if he did recognize the 29 year version of someone he last saw as a 15 year old. How would that even happen unless he is a psychic? Not to mention that someone was someone he did not see for 14 years and (presumably) had no picture of - not even of the teen version. And who he thinks is dead.
It would be ridiculous for him to recognize her on sight. Yet - the number of kdramas who have that happen (hello, Winter Sonata) is insane. And it's a pet peeve I hate. Hate hate hate. And one time a drama doesn't do it, people wonder if there is something wrong. Argh argh argh!!!!
(side note - trope of first loves not recognizing each other and falling for each other all over again is a huge fave - see Spring Wltz and (sort of) Save the Last Dance. If this drama gives it to me, I will love it forever).
Btw, my comment notifications seem very delayed...
